Epilepsy movie database

The board of the German Society for Epileptology created the Epilepsy Movie Database or EMDb for short, a film database with over 500 feature films involving epilepsy. These films were made in over 100 years of film history and are accessible to the general public. Hörmann has supported this project financially.

The purpose of the project “EMDb – Epilepsy Movie Database” is to provide socio-medical information about epilepsy, the second most common chronological and neurological disease. The movie database includes films in which epilepsy plays a direct or indirect role, but also films in which the disease is not explicitly addressed.

Therefore, the project has a wide audience ranging from patients and their relatives to health professionals, film journalists and media experts. The movie database is available in German and English.
