Culture, history and art
unite the Via Nova Corvey Art Festival in Höxter
In 822 AD
the monastery was founded in the town of Höxter in North Rhine-Westphalia

The Via Nova art festival offers a perfect platform to bring the way of life, the art and the mentality of the people of the Middle Ages and its impact on today's world to life in a historical setting. From musical and literary contributions to scientific lectures, the art festival offers a wide range of cultural and historical activities. The variety of themes of the festival, which is different every year, ranges from cultural and historical themes such as “Ein Wald von Symbolen – ein Himmel voller Gedanken” (A forest of symbols – a sky full of thought), “Long ago – Far away” to “Wild. Wald. Welt” (Wild. Forest. World).

The Hörmann Group has supported the art festival from the very beginning. As a personal matter of interest to the Hörmann family, who are enthusiasts of art and culture, a close collaboration developed that continues to this day.

Overview of our commitment

Via Nova Corvey Art Festival 2021

“Die Erde ist ein Sänger – Oddyseen” (The Earth is a singer – Odysseys)

The theme of the Via Nova art festival has a musical flavour and already hints at the fact that this year's festival will be like a musical journey through time. The historic halls of Corvey will be filled with the medieval sounds of the past thanks to renowned musicians.

“Wild. Wald. Welt” (Wild. Forest. World.)

The art festival will already celebrate its third anniversary in 2020. With the theme “Wild. Wald. Welt” (Wild. Forest. World.), the Corvey monastery hopes to revive its close connection with nature over the past centuries. Next to guests such as actors, authors, musicians and scientists, the audience enjoyed a diverse mix of staged readings, concerts, talks, puppet shows, dance performances, excursions and an exhibition.
