Alexandra Reck already arrived in Abu Dhabi with the 229-strong German delegation a week before the start of the competitions. During the so-called Host Town Programme in the Emirate of Sharjah, the athletes had the chance to get used to the environment, to get to know the host region and, last but not least, of course, to train. Besides various excursions, highlights were the visits to German schools and the reception at the German embassy. On 14 March 2019, the Games opened with a magnificent ceremony at the Abu Dhabi Stadium in front of 40000 spectators.

Alexandra Reck finished the competition with a great success. She won the silver medal in her performance class Level 1 (Special Olympics golf rules). She was able to beat the competition from Poland, Spain and the United Arab Emirates with 231 points. Alexandra Reck's mother accompanied her to Abu Dhabi and described this sports trip afterwards as the greatest experience for her family and for her daughter in particular.
