Flexible high-speed door V 5025 Z from Hörmann Innovative zipper technology
Topic Overview
Day-to-day life in the world of production and logistics is fast-paced and often hectic. Many a forklift truck operator is faster than expected when passing through a high-speed door. If they crash into the door, it can be ripped out of the side rails in no time – and the service technician has to step in. The newly developed flexible high-speed door V 5025 Z from Hörmann is different: If an industrial truck collides with the door curtain and rips it out of the side elements, the automatic re-feed function acts like a zipper. When the door travels upwards, the plastic zipper sliders automatically return to their position inside the plastic slide rails via an automatic re-feed in line with the shaft cover. The door continues to operate as usual. This reduces the need for on-site fitting work and ensures operational safety.
Economical and suitable for everyday use
“The centrepiece of the door is the newly designed side element, where all the fixing points are in a line,” explains Hörmann Product Manager Bernd Röttger. “The maintenance-free plastic slide rails are integrated here. They guide the zipper attached to the sides of the door curtain”. The combination of zipper and rail is extremely robust and ensures wind stability up to wind class 3 in accordance with DIN EN 12424. “The V 5025 Z is a very economical, everyday door that's perfect for fast operating processes. This is where damage to doors by factory traffic can lead to frustrating downtimes. These downtimes can be avoided with the V 5025 Z.”

Simple fitting
The bottom part of the door is flexible. It consists of a double, black PVC curtain loop and forms a very good seal even on rough ground. An approx. 90 centimetre deep vision field over the entire clear width ensures safety, because oncoming vehicles or persons on the other side of the door can be easily seen. The V 5025 Z is available with maximum dimensions of 5000 × 5000 mm, a galvanized shaft cover is supplied as standard. The opening speed is two metres per second, the closing speed is one metre per second. When it comes to fitting, the flexible high-speed door scores with compact fitting dimensions and extensive pre-assembly at the factory. Röttger: “Transport is also a lot simpler as we supply the door with the drive unit, control and accessories in a single package. And thanks to Hörmann's snap cable concept, it's very easy and quick to connect.”
The V 5025 Z is manufactured in Germany. The Hörmann BK FU Z control with light grille is included as standard, but an optional upgrade to Hörmann's well-known and reliable BK 150 FUE-1 control is readily available. The flexible high-speed door is available in five RAL standard colours: 1018 (Zinc yellow), 2004 (Pure orange), 7038 (Agate grey), 3002 (Carmine red) and 5010 (Gentian blue) and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
